Some more referencing:
Beast of the City stars Jean Harlow as Daisy, and Wallace Ford as not a very nice person.
In the dolphin sequel, the drama comes from some nefarious plans afoot - or should that be a'tail! Because prosthetically-fluked dolphins like Winter need company, not to be left out alone in the cold. I'm crying already.
Falling presents a unique structure using 10 self-contained filmlets woven into a story involving failure.
Love Crazy features a certain Mr Ireland and how he wins back the wife he dumped.
REDD's actor names and acronyms just ache to be punned. The control-freak GRIMM corporation, Kinden Blood who fights on their side, and April Crum as Redd. Gotta be a fwfr gift - shame about the film!

Robert Wagners Chet Bixby bears some resemblance to troubled trumpeter Chad Baker.

Spoiler for Omar (not really in the review): he is a not-very-successful terrorist who becomes a not-very-good informant.
As other reviewers here and elsewhere have pointed out, Earth to Echo has an obvious inheritance from a seminal troubled-kids-help-a-stranded-alien-go-home film. (Nevertheless/Therefore, I did find it touching and parents shouldn't hesitate to take their children to see it.)
