NB: Princess Kaguya is born out of a bamboo shoot. "Only Yesterday" takes place in flashback as Taeko travels back to her rural hometown. A retired actress is prompted to discuss her career after being given a mysterious key linked to her past in "Millennium Actress". Patrick Poole provides the voice of the main character in "Garden of Words" - concerning a couple who only meet on days when it rains. Two romantically attached teenagers are separated when one is sent to another galaxy to fight aliens in "Voices of a Distant Star".
