Nice bunch here, some 5/5 already. Matt was 4/5 because I hadn't seen that Crazy Heart review. Brilliant.

Alliteration, including a film starring Joseph Cotten.

Check 'em with overexplanations:

- "50 to 1" are the odds against Mine That Bird in the Kentucky Derby. Trainer Chip Woolley is portrayed by Skeet Ulrich.

- A little ASCII art for "American Sniper"

- Tom Hanks had been married to Rita Wilson for 12 years by the time "Cast Away" was bumped, set and spiked into theaters.

- I've been beating "Looking For Comedy In The Muslim World" like a dead Kentucky Derby loser.

- You'll NXNW what I'm talking about with the Jimmy Stewart one.

1950s

N.B.
"Los Olvidados" translates as 'the forgotten ones'.
Spencer Tracy plays the curmudgeonly and financially stretched title character in "Father of the Bride".
Alastair Sim plays the title character in "Scrooge".
Vienna is a saloon owner and former lover of gunslinger turned musician "Johnny Guitar".
Judy Garland never won an Oscar, although she was hotly tipped for one in "A Star is Born", ironically...

Jeff Bridges plays an alcoholic country singer called Bad Blake in Crazy Heart.

Children in care sadly often experience abuse. Spoiler for Flightplan, in which Jodie Foster's child goes missing.

One film is the twelfth in its franchise.

Dick Francis was an author.

P.J. is on the ball.
