Josh mentioned it. Well it's slow here too. Very similar to the problems experienced a few months back by several members. DEFCON 3.
Anyone else?
Seems better this morning. |

Back to normal now but there was a dead slow refresh rate earlier, and I have pretty quick broadband. Perhaps word got out that I had several new reviews for 'Snakes on a Plane' and the servers were overloaded with enthusiastic voters. |

Initial logon and fourum VERY SLOW, but not as bad as before. Quite noticeable and irritating while you wait. Film pages seem generally OK.
EDIT: Posting of new messages instantaneous. Same phenomenon as before, just not quite so bad. |

Could be down to the site running out of disk space. Hopefully, I can sort this out when I get in tonight (not that the site seems slow for me yet, mind ) |

Dunno how slow ... but wot about the heat so hot it MELTED my puter screen!!! As it faded away I could have sworn I heard it chanting that Wicked Witch line "I'm melting!" as it frizzled and frazzled to a halt, leaving a puter-sized puddle on the desk. Have just been out on an insurance claim for a shiney new LCD ... and the FWFR colours looks absolutely loverly!
If we're discussing loading anomalies though -- sometimes when I login to the 4Um and post a new message or a reply, nothing happens. Then I try a preview, do a back button/forward button thing and try posting again ... and it always works! Just me?
It JUST did it again!

| Anybody else noticed that it's a very long initial logon, then everything's back to normal? Been that way here for two days now. |

Yup ... the bug has definitely crossed the Atlantic! The hopeful explanation might be that SO MANY newbies have just joined and are having FWFR fun! [but it's prob'ly just server space, eh Benj?]

| It happened again once during this session, when a transfer between fwfr pages timed out. Weird. I've taken to picking up a magazine when I first log on. |

Glad I'm not the only one affected. The stupid part is it is not all the time and not on every page load.
Nevermind.
