Some friends just returned from a trip to North America which included a trip to Saskatchewan. Upon their return we were loaned a copy of the first season of Corner Gas. I've only seen part of one episode but already it seems like a Prairie parallel to SeaChange and Northern Exposure. Any comments from my Canuck brethren (or those south of the 49th Parallel familiar with the series)? |

| It has been popular here, but since I watch virtually no telly ('24' excepted) I can't comment. |

I will come out of retirement to say this.
The best Canadian show ever, and second only to Arrested Development as best overall, in my mind. Phenomenal. They just began the fourth season here and it keeps me tickled pink.
Retirement resuming in 3 ... 2 ... 1. |

| From another Canadian, me. Corner Gas blends the simple joys and gentle humor of The Andy Griffith Show with the sharp wit of Seinfeld. I generally find Canadian sitcoms abysmal, but Gas is genuinely funnier than any American sitcom out there now. Wait till you get to the episode where one old woman in Dog River wants to build a tourist attraction and the discussion eventually leads to a monument for the World's Largest Crack Hoe. Pure brilliance. |
