I thought I'd start a new topic as I often have accolade-specific problems.

If I have got an auto-update term/person but have also added other films, when I update the accolade for other reasons, the additional films have disappeared by the time I get to that page. Is this a Mac or general thing?

The Accolade "auto-updates" are the only feature I can think of that I really wish benj had never created. I know our added convenience was what he had in mind but I believe the feature is being used in a way that he never intended.

I like it, but I agree with you about the accolades featuring random words. (Having said that, I have one featuring my name - is that beyond the pale too? I suppose it is.) However, since I don't care about achieving accolades, this usage does not trouble me. I would like the feature not to cause me problems, though.

Benj, I'm having loads of problems with accolades at the moment.

A specific one is that it won't add Owd Bob to my ''Six Feet' Over' accolade.

In fact, it cannot seem to add any James Cromwell one. Any ideas?

Benj

I wanted to create an accolade featuring the films of Alistair Sim.

When I did a search whilst creating a new accolade, his name did not come up, either in whole or in Alistair or Sim.

This is clearly an error as he is listed under many films.

Problems I've been having with accolades have been getting more and more. Lately, I have had several instances where a (correct) string of letters did not raise a film, but a different string did.

Benj, could you please look into these glitches regarding adding films of certain people (e.g. I can add James Cromwell, but it doesn't add his films, and I cannot add Dolph Lundgren or George Clooney at all)? Thanks.

When you get the Dolf Lundgren one figured out, let me know - I believe him to be our generation's finest actor and I woudn't want to miss any of his films.

Plus there is the thing that definitely occurs where it changes between 'Yes' and 'No' for auto-updating - BaftaBabe has experienced this too.

Benj, could you please let us know if you've looked into these problems and it's just that they cannot be fixed (either for now or ever)? It is fine if so, but I'd just like to know so that I know to go back to compiling accolades by hand. Thanks.

The other view:

benj, please don't look into these problems! I'm delighted that "auto-adders" are having them!

I took a look at the auto-update option not sticking and couldn't recreate it, so consider that one still open and pending investigation.

I'm sure I had a look at the Dolph Lundgren issue and seem to remember fixing it but you might want to double check.
