What do the movies Raiders of the Lost Ark, Donovan's Reef and South Pacific have in common?

So I think Raiders was shot location wise in Tunisia for the Egypt/desert stuff and Hawaii for the tropical jungle stuff - so Shot in Hawaii (I never saw South Pacific, but guessing Hawaii over Tunisia)?

Yes Hawaii but where specifically? Island would be good enough.

Who was the first person nominated for an Oscar for playing a vampire, and for what film?

I'm going to take a huge stab in the dark and suggest Martin Landau in Ed Wood.

Actually, Martin Landau won his Oscar for his role Bela Lugosi, who is playing a vampire in the movie being filmed, while Willem Dafoe was nominated for his role as Schreck, who is a real vampire, playing a vampire in the movie being filmed. Yeah, yeah, a technicality, but it makes Beanmimo right!

Offhand, I would guess it's between the O'Deas - Jimmy, Joseph and Denis, though for the life of me, I can't find how they are related. All were from Dublin, Ireland, all born in the same short time span, and at least two of them were involved with Abbey Theater.

You should go over to Wikipedia and add some info on your illustrious ancestors to the articles, Beanmimo. There's not a lot of info out there!

I've racked my brain and just don't seem to be able to come up with something bright and clever today, so I'll just ask:

Who was the screenwriter/studio exec who cast Rudolph Valentino in his first starring role, The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?
