These are still both there. I only keep noticing because it was the last film that A.C. needed for that accolade. (Well done to him, by the way. )

Here, StaLean's "Anna takes a gander" came after my "Take a gander skywards!" Also, moose's "Paquin gets Goosed" came after dlanod's "Paquin gets goosed" (which was in fact the first review for the film).

Have merged the "Paquin gets goosed" reviews, but I'm not so sure that Stalean's and yours are that similar- you surely can't be claiming to be the first person to have punned on the word 'gander'?

I think I'll submit "Anna takes gander skywards".

My point exactly. They are not different puns on the same word. They are not the same pun referring to different events. They are the same pun referring to the same event. Mine just didn't mention Anna, that's all.

I respectfully disagree. Sal, yours was phrased as a direction to the reader to do something, telling the reader to look skyward (and see a gander). The other review was descriptive, it states what the star of the film actually did in the movie. Although the pun is the same, the effect is different, and the reviews are entirely different in character in all other respects. I can see good arguments as to why each of the reviews is "better" than the other. (Which I will share if anyone asks.) Eliminating one of these reviews would not enrich this website, but would deprive it of the benefit of a new twist on an existing review.

But that's just my humble opinion. . . .

No, mine was intended to cover both an 'instruction' to look at the sky to see the geese flying (as the people in the city do) and to describe the idea of one of the ganders being taken in a 'plane (as Igor is by Anna). It would be very rubbish if it just covered the first of these. I thought that I had covered this sufficiently by the last sentence of my previous post. I was originally going to word it as my review simply not having the subject of the sentence specified (as it is in the imperative form) but I didn't want to get too complicated.

I guess I bcan see that now that it is pointed out. However there is a definite difference in emphasis, at the very least.

Funty's "Smith turns a prophet" for Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back is ...

(1) Inaccurate since Smith plays a prophet in Dogma, not in Jay and Silent Bob ....
(2) A duplicate of my Dogma review with the exact same wording.
