Life of Brian

Forgive me if I've misread the haiku movie list, but it looks as if this Kubrick classic is ripe for the picking.

Plenty of inspiration in Peter Sellers as a threesome, George C Scott spends a Buck, and a Slim King Kong rides a bomb to hell.

Laugh till you cry and please keep off the grass.

A simple tale about a very naughty boy.
/////////
Abbreviated rules
The first line of a haiku poem has five syllables.
The second line has seven syllables.
The third, and final, line has five syllables.

The Movie Haiku Contest (MHC) is open to every member of the FWFR site. Give it a try if you never have--it's SO EASY!

To enter, all you have to do is think of a Haiku for the current movie, then post into the current thread. (Hint: read it out loud, ticking off the syllables with your fingers as you do so.)

Haikus may be risque, but please, don't make men faint and women scream in doing so (e.g. crotch hockey).

Only one entry per person. However, you may edit your existing entry until 9pm Tuesday FWFR time.

Voting.

If you have entered the MHC, then you have to vote. It's required. If you enter but do not vote, you get a whopping 3 point penalty, which can change you from a Champion to a Chump instantly.

"Failing to vote, however, could have drastic consequences. Really. I'm serious. This goes for you, too." So wrote a predecessor, and I couldn't agree more.

You do not have to enter an MHC to vote. Vote away. It'll be just like a lurker vote! Get it???
---------------------------------
For each round, you get to vote for your three favourite haikus. The voting is as follows:

3 pts fwfr a
2 pts fwfr b
1 pt fwfr c
--------------------------------
You may vote only once.
You may not vote for yourself.

You vote by sending me your votes in a PM (Private Message) HERE. Vote deadline is Wed 14 July 9:00 AM fwfr time. Thanks for entering!

Thanks, everyone for voting so promptly ... and to the two lurkers! ... and to all who approved the choice of film.

I've consulted the Lost Books of the Ark of the Covenant of the Two Caves of the Six Kings and the Last Lamp of the 1001 Knights of Nie and the People's Republic of Judy and the Judy's Coalition of Peking and I can announce the winners of the Crown of the Thornbirds of Happiness, in reverse order ... what was that? Your order? Thanks, I'll have a ginger ale and don't be stingy.

Uhm, all righty, in third place, with a perfectly respectable 7 points, lucky for some, but not quite the miracle we were expecting, is The Bean, Bean there done that, the one and only Beanmimo, holder of the seven [3,2,1,1].

And, with a mighty nine points, his feet planted firmly on terra firma because although he is cheeky and extremely clever, he is a mere mortal, after all, and after all nine is nearly ten. So very nearly. But ten? Nein! He's molded to our hearts, the very malleable clay - he's putty in our hands [2,1,3,1,2].

So I bet you wanna know which melt-in-your-mouth beauty has blocked out the blokes, leaving a good taste and promises of more. She just goes from verse to verse, she's got it all wrapped up, she's flavour of the week. With a high Choco content of 19 points - that is NOT a typo, it is a measure of sweet appreciation - yep, it's Chocolate Lady [2,3,2,3,3,3,3].

Rise up to the winner's hill - preferably by levitation - and speak in the tongues of acceptance before lighting up the sky with a new star for us to follow.
