I'm unemployed and bored in San Francisco, so in the spirit of this thread, I've compiled a list of my 100 (or so) favorite filmmakers. Rather than ranking them individually, I've placed them in tiers: I like the Tier 1 filmmakers more than the Tier 2 filmmakers, etc. So without further ado:

Chuck Jones
Stanley Kubrick
Martin Scorsese
Steven Spielberg
Billy Wilder
Robert Zemeckis

Tier 2

James Cameron
Francis Ford Coppola
Michael Curtiz
Buster Keaton

Christopher Nolan
Orson Welles

Tier 3
Frank Capra
Alfonso Cuaron
Paul Greengrass
Alfred Hitchcock
Steve James
John Lasseter
David Lean
Harold Lloyd (and his director Fred C. Newmeyer)

Tier 4

Ernest B. Schoedsack
Don Siegel

Tier 6

What if they all contributed to one of those compilation films, and you assigned each one a topic for a one-minute film. Maybe an overall theme. Or not. I'm thinking RoGoPag type thing.
