After nearly 7 years and 350ish FWTOs I would like to call time on my tenure as FWTOMeister. I'm planning on calling it a day with FWTO 625, which would make it roughly my 350th competition, and the approximate 12 year anniversary of the FWTO competition.

If there is anyone out there who would like to take over, leave a message here, or PM me. If there isn't, then the FWTO will, er, die

Thanks to you all, and also to those FWTOMeisters who have gone before me - The Foxboy, WildheartLivie, and Beanmimo.

Many thanks for your tallying all these years, Chris. You've been a fantastic FWTOMeister and it's been so fun meeting the weekly challenges.

I think there is still life in this contest. The group is smaller than it once was, but has still been drawing a consistent six or seven talented players most weeks for quite some time. And we've barely made a dent into Hollywood.

Running the contest requires more time and math skills than I can imagine contributing every single week. But I'd be willing to participate in a system where last week's winner tallies next week's contest. That would mean whoever starts the thread also sums it up.

If nobody steps forward to take this on regularly, would the other usual players be open to trying that kind of winner-deals-the-next-round system?

This could work. Tallying the votes each week is one thing but I wonder about keeping the stats/lists up to date?

Thanks, guys, for all your participation. If it wasn't for you, we all wouldn't be here now.

I think there is still life in FWTO, and I hope it continues. The tallying is easy, as there is a spreadsheet available (developed by Cheese_Ed, Sean and myself back in the 3-competitions-a-week days) that can be used, although mine is a bit out of date due to computer and software changes. Doing it by hand is relatively simple. Guidance can be given whichever road you choose to go down.

The updating is a little more awkward, as it really needs to be done by one person. Perhaps you can adopt the best of both worlds - the competition winner tallies the next competition, but there is one person who updates all the stats, perhaps once a month instead of every week.

Thanks very much for your many years of service, Chris. It's greatly appreciated!

This competition is a lot of fun and I'd hate to see it go the way of FWPT.

I feel the same as you, Corduroy Pillow, so I'm up for the system you suggested.

I am prepared to do the weekly tallying and winner announcement. Is there anyone who is prepared to do the stats updating?

If there's some way way I can help automate/ simplify the creation of stats, etc... I'd be happy to put something together and host it on fwfr. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks, [matt]. Sounds like a deal.

As of #626, folks can send their votes to me.

Thanks for all your great work over the years, Chris.

Thanks to Lemmy and matt for stepping in and taking the reins.

I'll PM both of you in the next week or so with a few hints and guidelines that should help you out.
