Posted - 12/19/2006 : 21:13:38 I had the honor of meeting Mr. Barbera when I was about 14 at a childrens' book store in Los Angeles where he was signing a coffee table book about the history of Hanna Barbera. I bought the book, had him sign it, and then sold it for a pretty penny immediately after. I was more glad to meet the guy than I was to buy or even read the book. |

Mark Evanier at www.newsfromme.com has several great stories on this guy, who with his partner William Hanna, virtually saved the animation industry in the late 40's-early 50's, and set the original standards for television animation. Without The Flintstones, there would be no Simpsons. |
