The film just got a spanking new re-release in the UK. If you'd like, you can read my suitably 'brief' Morning Star review.

[Actually - I'd written "vedy, vedy happy" but the sub-editor assumed it was a mistake and changed it to "very, very" -- but I think it still works, and I hope you like it.

Funnily enough I just watched this (for the first and last time) last night. Can't say I was too impressed. I didn't like any of the characters, they were too 'stiff-upper-lipped' for me to give a hoot what happened to them. I find their accents the most unpleasant accents on the planet. Gimme Mockney, Geordie or even Brummie!

Oh yeah, and Blief Encounter is a thousand times better.

It's a lovely film to watch. But with modern sensibilities, it's hard to believe they wouldn't just go for it!

Cute review, and too bad the editor changed it to "very, very", but it still works.

I recorded this movie off the TV many years ago. While it was probably controversial when it came out, it does seem a touch laughable today. No matter - still a good film.
