I have to confess, I have eaten some of this stuff. The salty one is quite nice.

We musn't forget this wonderfullly named place in Bavaria.

Edit - oops, just realised this is a repeat of Sean's post on the first page.

Or this town in Austria. Apparently, the locals are very unhappy with all the British tourists who pass through the place and steal the town sign on the way out the other side.

I have heard rumours that this didn't actually happen, but I choose to believe it anyway

It looks genuine (Oval, 1976). I don't think it was a gaffe, though - I think he knew just was he was saying.

I heard a recording of this and it is hysterical. After the gaffe was spoken the two commentators keep crumbling into laughter. One of then manages to continue commentating through the hysterics which just sets the other off again. Worth tracking down if you can.

NB Cockburns - the brand of port in the UK - is always pronounced co-burns. However cock-a-leekie - chicken soup with leeks - originally Scottish, is pronounced as spelled.

I forget the exact teams and titles, but their were two Major League Baseball coaches (one of them was with the Cubs) named Dick Pole and Dick Harter.

There was a similar slip on US TV . In a sports bulletin one of the anchors wound up the summary with a story about a fast pitcher who could pitch through a car wash without getting the ball wet.

"Well , he must have the cleanest balls in the league !" replied his co host then collapsed with laughter!

Take a bus to this village.

I jumped on and rode the Fucker to Wank.

Presumably driven there by Rolf Wanka!

I read that the locals are upset because British tourists keep stealing the sign!
