On 28 December 1895: The Lumire brothers showed their first film to a paying audience, and cinema was born.

Seeds of my addiction!

I understand it was for talking during the film. He was reported to have said such things as

"Ooo girl don't go in there: he gonna kill you!",
"He behind da door!" and
"Don't go up them stairs! Don't go up them stairs, now!"

Of course, he demanded a return of the admission price (though, I understand, he had initially sneaked into the show).

FUNNY!
