Posted - 01/06/2008 : 08:34:25 So why the hell am I watching 'Tequila Sunrise' on HBO @ 3:30(anti-meridian), so I can possibly write an accurate review on our site?!
You know you're addicted when.... Fill in your own blanks.
I cannot possibly be the only one who watches these flicks in order to find inspiration... Maybe I should just wing it for this film like 17.86% would possibly do...
wha'dya think?
Well, the movie ended with no more inspiration than 'Pfeifer's a friggin' ho' but I'll work it out. Actually, I wrote some reviews during the flick, let's see if they hold water...
Hmmm, so now I'm watching 'We are Marshall'(5:17am) a flick I thought I'd be allergic to, but I need a solid viewing so I can write the review that may be worthy of the 'Top 100' (like that'll ever happen)
WTF?! |

Posted - 01/10/2008 : 00:08:57 I've found, especially after the other nite, that I enjoy watching flicks I'd normally despise, hoping against hope that they will produce some publish-able reviews...
In both cases, my late nite venture sorted itself out, both having made it to the 'board'... but that has to do more with the MERPS latest outpouring than anything else.
'We are Marshall' turned out to be severely viewable, so I guess ya never know.
Anyway, that's the final thought, almost... thanks for your input regarding my latest drunken, reviewing, weekend stupor(why else would one stay up so late to review these flicks?)..............................................................
and as for my % rating of reviewers who 'phone it in'..... color me guilty, I've done it many times with the help of IMDB, but I've grown to enjoy viewing rather than blindly publishing, tho it's been a tried and true method... |

Posted - 01/08/2008 : 10:01:06 I tend to do "blind guess" reviews on films I just know I won't like. Usually, just thinking about the title, plot, cast, etc. can lead to some decent ones, without having to subject yourself to cinematic torture. |

Posted - 01/07/2008 : 05:44:17 I find it funny when I am watching one film, it gives me a review for a different film. Sure I try to watch odd films to help me write better reviews. But when your lasrt resort it to watch a C Movie and you can see the wires that make whatever it is flying...you know it's time to stop an reflect. |

Posted - 01/07/2008 : 02:06:45 I wouldn't say that accuracy is overrated, but with some thought and deft use of the internet one can write an accurate and/or funny review of a film without actually seeing it (though that usually eases the process). The vast majority of reviews I write these days are for movies I haven't seen. |

Posted - 01/06/2008 : 22:48:10 Accuracy is over-rated. Find a good rhyme or pun and roll with it; there's no need to inflict Tequila Sunrise on yourself just for a review. Although I do find thinking of a good review while watching a bad movie a very diverting way to pass the time. |
