Posted - 01/13/2008 : 08:18:27 Why does HBO show these flicks when they KNOW it's my bed-time?
I have to watch it. Hell, I'm 'off' tomorrow, why not stay up and see how things unfold?
I've already written reviews for this film, so why bother? 'Cuz HBO is the devil reincarnate, that's why. Love to see Ripley work her magic.
Damn you HBO!
If you wanna be more evil, show me Alien: Resurrection, taunt me with Winona, really set me off!
Do you find yourself in this particular quandary?!
And now 'Lethal weapon?' who do you bastards think you are?
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

My will power made me endure Robocop three the other night. I actually couldn't believe I sat there and watched the film until the last ten minutes when i just snapped and changed channels, it was an act of defiance on my brains behalf.
Impressive! Of course, the true test is to watch Robocop: The TV Series in it's short-lived entirety
The true test is to even attempt that feat... Benj, how do you do it?! That can't be a requisite viewing?! Dig in, brother...
Well, I accidentally saw most of an episode on TV once. Advert breaks have never been so welcomed.
Diggin' the adverts is a sure sign that the program I'm watching needs to be re-tuned... but I rarely change channels... I continue to watch to fruition, or until my body-clock says sleep... |

i struggled through a few of them a while back but was at risk of crap sci-fi burn-out.
I like to push the envelope every now and again.
You can't enjoy quality movies and TBV unless you have tasted the truly awful stuff that's out there. |

Posted - 01/25/2008 : 13:59:33 Yeah I love all of them and feck the nay sayers, so what if the new breed alien was a bit milky, it didn't last too long!! That scene where she sees all her predecessors just stays with you!!

My friday night's socalising was severely hampered when Alien:Resurrection came on...I just had to stay in and watch it. Though it did add a night to the life of my liver!!
I never miss a viewing. If it comes on, I watch it... Winona, Dominique Pinon, the guy from CSI(Gary Dourdan, I know) and one of the greatest character, English/French speaking actors of our time, Ron Perlman... Are you kidding?! Sigourney Weaver's almost an after-thought in this one...
AND, I own the flick, could watch it anytime, but rarely view it without seeing the other 3 first, and that's a stretch.
If HBO brings this to the house, all bets are officially off!
The first is a classic, 'Aliens' even better(in my limited 'book'), 3 is a decent interlude, but Resurrection? EVERY TIME! |

Yeah, there are new fangled things called "recorders" which enable you to "time-shift".
What will they think of next?

Sometimes I like giving into the old fashioned grip that the television had on your time.
The Old fashioned grip is, unfortunately, my only choice... wish I had those 'new fangled' options to choose from.
Last nite... 'Phenomenon' on 'Plex' Once again, thought I'd be allergic to it, watched it only to see the obligatory 'flash from the sky' scene, but found myself watching the whole... damned... thing... Kyra Sedgwick always proves powerful(Don't believe? Check out 'Montana'), and Johnny T was surprisingly convincing as the reluctant hero/dolt...
Oh yeah, try to find Idi Amin in Forest Whitaker, based on this role, I dare ya!
Managed some submittable reviews outta the experience, so my bosses at work can go f... themselves! |

Posted - 01/16/2008 : 01:57:51 My kids will pause when they leave the room so they can play the commercials when they get back. Don't want to miss the next Spidey Toy or anything.
And they simply roll their eyes when I tell them stories of the Format Wars, how we had a VHS but our friends had Beta (sorry, I haven't a clue what they use on the other side of the pond). I also love to tell my kids that computers haven't always had color screens and graphics... |

Posted - 01/15/2008 : 20:50:03 Which is why I try to stay away from the USA Network. I don't think they played 'Back to The Future', 'Bring It On', and 'Coyote Ugly' in over a month. Its about due time. Whenever I see either of them...I have to stop and watch. |
