Posted - 01/29/2007 : 01:42:39 I have probably been around on the site long enough that I should really know whether any of our contingent from Down Under is living in the Perth area .... but I don't
I seem to recall foxy and AC both hailing from WA originally, obviously AC moved a continent away, and I never listen much to foxy
Anyhows, I will be there (with most of my horde of kids) in mid-Feb, if anyone else is around would be fun to finally take part in a fwfr-meet-up.
Tried it on my own in bith Holland and Singapore, but I didn't find myself to be particularly rewarding company
Alternatively, if there is no one around, perhaps I can at least get some timps on what I should be seeing |

Despite the bad press, I love it here. Sean, where did you work? You weren't the Sean who ran the art centre are you?
Nope. I was the Sean who worked for a gold/diamond/base-metal exploration company (that no longer exists) in the mid-90s. We had ground about 30km south, also some back towards Fitzroy Crossing, and west of Turkey Creek. Didn't find a lot though. I was there from about early 1994 to early 1995 if I remember correctly.
Way before my time. You'll have got to see some great country, though. 30kms south(ish) of HC down the Tanami would be Ruby Plains and beyond? The mining, of all sorts, has gone off up here since then, but there's a lot more involvement with the Aboriginal communities too. Do you remember any of the local people that you met? Or maybe you didn't - I know a lot of the mining crew, and they often don't meet anyone local. |

I'm in WA, but 3000km away - so no meeting up for a quick coffee! Hope you have a great time .
Where in the Kimberleys? I spent a year in Halls Creek.
What a bloody small world it be. The very place I've been here 5 years now.
I spent a night there on the way to Darwin.

Fwfr convention at the airport then.
Nope, the International and Domestic airports in Perth are in different locations.
If bife is leaving later in the day or at night, then we could easily meet up. |

Dates in Feb?
Sorry - posted and then took a flight to the US
I think we're there from 15th to 24th, although I think 19th to 22nd we are away on a 'farmstay' about 3 hours south of Perth. Dates aren't exact, they are from memory, so I might be a day or two out.
Are you still living near Perth foxy?
No, but I will be arriving in Perth on the morning of the 24th. |

No, they kicked him out a long time ago. |
