Not sure if we've done one of these with this group - but I thought it might be fun for us to get in a freindly NCAA bracket challenge for the US College Basketball tournament that starts this week.

I started a bracket group in Yahoo so you can join there. I will send you the invite information as soon as it comes to my email.

For those less familiar with NCAA brackets - there is a College Basketball tournament each year, the top 64 teams in the country play a one and done tournament for the National Championship. Teams are seeded 1 - 16 (1's assumed to be better than 16's which are the longshots). If you have a Yahoo id you can login and play. Just pick each game all the way trhough the final 4 and the championship game - I will bestow votes upon the top 3 players pages (I will go through the first 3 pages for #1, the first 2 pages for #2 and the first 1 page for #3 - all unvoted, I don't guarantee votes, but I will look at all of your reviews).

Tips:
* upsets happen a lot and while the top 4 seeds are expected to do well, they have never all gotten to the final 4.
* you don't need to know anything about basketball to do well (see above upsets happen)
* this is fun and its easy to play
* you could end up getting a lot of votes
* You have to pick the score of the final game - for reference the last 3 final game scores were: (73 - 57) ; (75 - 70) ; (82 - 73)
* you get more points for right answers in later rounds - so if you pick upsets you might want to be more daring in earlier rounds

Post here that you've signed up and let me know if you have any questions - its is all automated and pretty straight forward.

GAMES start Thursday in the US so get your picks in soon!! You have to have your picks in before the first games start - details on the website.

You can enter several brackets but lets limit ourselves to one that we want to put in the mix for competition (i.e post here which bracket you want us to use before games start if you do more than one bracket)

Ah well. With no real supporting reasons why, I think I'm going with Ohio State to take it through. While I was filling out my brackets, I realized just how MANY times I've written these same teams down in the past - Kansas, North Carolina, Georgetown, Florida. Though I must say I'm proud of Butler for fending through, and grudgingly, Indiana University. But this may be the year UCLA beats IU into the dirt.

I couldn't find compelling reasons not to take Kansas, Florida and North Carolina into the Final Four, but I will root for Ohio State.

Sorry Wildhart - I cancelled the league because no one signed up in time before the first game.

I've tried joining and it keeps telling me the password is incorrect

Well I can see why we never did this before.
