I thought it was very funny and wondered if it was being shown around the world and if the principals were well known comics in New Zealand - I guess that is a question best answered by Sean. The guys names are Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie.
Curious if anyonw else saw this or if this is old hat for the rest of the world. |

Thanks for the links Cheese Ed! [edit] OMG it was part of that show and on youtube! Here's the original live TV performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR2L98gobTQ |

I assumed like Extras it was a co=production or that these guys were already popular in NZ. Either way - give the show a shot and you can probably you tube some of their very funny music videos.

It probably won't get to Israel, but if it does, it will be a long while down the road. We're just about to get "Friday Night Lights" here, and I understand that was pretty popular in the USA. If the show is high profile, we often get it sooner - like with "Sopranos" (we have two episodes left, so we're not that far behind the USA), "Sex and the City", "Desparate Housewives", "Weeds", "Gray's Anatomy", "Studio 60", "30 Rock", "The O.C.", "House", "Numb3rs" and the like. I understand the FNL was pretty big there but since it is about American Football, I guess they didn't think people would be that interested and waited until we'd finished other seasons to air it. My guess is it will be taking over the "Sopranos" spot.
Of course, we also get lots of really great British series as well. For instance, I'm now enjoying "The Chase" a great deal, and they're re-running "All About George" and "Kissed by Kate", and we got two runs of all of "Life Begins" as well. We've had all of the "Johnathan Creek" series, and speaking of Alan Davies, got "Bob & Rose" as well as "The Brief". We also get all the "Silent Witness" shows and we're somewhere in the middle of season 5 of "Judge John Deed", for instance.
Yes, Israeli television - the best of both worlds!

Never heard of either of them, although it looks like McKenzie had a bit part in LOTR along with his Dad. |
