I guess it keeps some potential stalkers off the streets, though.

Hang on, duh: there are sometimes bugs in that version, which requires some sort of patch or something.
There are soooo many ways to interpret that... |

Didn't Bradbury's Martian Chronicles have a part where some guy made androids to keep himself company, including a 'wife' and a 'daughter?' And how about West World -- Babs' hubby and Richard Bemjamin's characters did the nasty with the whorehouse androids.
Somebody had better do an accolade based on this. I won't, too distractable. [/quote]

Um.. that was a feature, not a documentary?
whew! thanx
This thread reminds me a great, very creepy horror story I read years ago about a guy and his girlfriend, who happens to be a mannequin. (NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ANDREW McCARTHY movie) I've been trying to remember the name of the story or the writer, but have a mental block on both. I read it in an anthology of the year's best sci-fi...but don't ask me the year. The writer is American and the final image of the story is the mannequin behind the wheel of a car.... does this ring any bells with anyone??

Posted - 08/21/2007 : 22:43:00 Both "Cherry 2000" and "Sensuous Doll" sound like great films; unfortunately this is not what I was thinking of....

Don't you mean "consenting adult" cuz I don't think the doll has actually agreed to anything. I caught a glimpse of these when I was channel surfing and saw part of an episode of Nip/Tuck. Yikes.
Back in the 70's there was a bestselling book, "Any Woman Can" by Dr. David Ruben(???) It was followed by a satire, "Any Orangutan Can:"
Q: But what if the woman wants to feel loved? A: She can feel loved by having the dildo tell her it loves her.
Or something to that effect...my memory is foggy. |

Posted - 08/21/2007 : 11:31:13 Life is full of fetish thrill seekers but that's just creepy. I mean what sort of path are you walking when you get a kick out of a lifeless life size realistic doll....where do you go from there?? |
