Thanks for the sites. I used to always use Superdrug instead of Boots (and still do in fact, out of habit) because Superdrug's own products were not tested on animals, but that's no longer guaranteed.  |

I've been investigating and you're right! I'd thought L'Oreal publicly subscribed to the cut-off date for animal testing as advocated by Nature Watch, but it seems there are contradictions in their policy. Naturewatch does provide a pdf template letter to send to L'Oreal, which I certainly intend to do. Not that I'd ever buy a L'Oreal product. And, actually, I don't buy Body Shop anymore either - or Green & Blacks since they sold out to Cadbury.
There are lots of organic, truly cruelty-free products available - the best online. Here are some [mostly UK] if anyone's interested:
