Poor Alice kinda got passed over, what with Marcel Marceau passing.

"Esmerelda", the "Bewitched" baby-sitting maid for Samantha Stephens, is a shy sorceress who fades from sight when she gets nervous.

Ghostley fades away.

Oh, too bad. I always thought she got the short shrift after playing the maid in "With Six you get Eggroll", I still don't understand why they didn't give her the maid Alice's part in the TV semi-version of that movie, "The Brady Bunch".

(Not that I had anything against Ann Davis.)

One of my favorite Ghostley roles was when she played a mild-mannered cannibal on Twilight Zone ep, or something like that. "We're having the children for dinner."

Ghostley pale.

Oh, how sad! Ghostley came from that great tradition of revue - sophisticated comedy and song in NY venues such as The Duplex. Her quirky looks made her a great visual presence on tv and for a short while in films. Her very presence taught many aspiring performers [me included] that women could definitely be funny.

Lady clown's final pratfall.
