Bobby was always somewhat crazed. I didn't know him personaly. I was good friends with Col. Ed Edmunson and know Grandmaster Larry Evans, both of whom were close to him before he really went off the deep end.

Earthing Bobby Fischer.

I didn't realize how detestable he became in later years (applauding 9/11, for example - at worst you can say America angered loads of people but don't applaud the death of thousands of people). It's clear that he was petty about laws that kept him from defending his chess crowns and when he broke the law couldn't believe we tried to enforce it. Hard to be proud of an "American Hero" when he is so hateful towards us.

Had to buy proper food(and Ice Cream too).

I suppose he insisted on GM foods?

So did you beat him?

RU kidding, he beat me so badly at blitz, I almost gave up playing chess.

As long as it was only "almost".

Anyway, if you are going to resort to almosts, you might as well say that you almost beat him.

Yeah? Well Grand Master Sammy Reshevsky stayed at my house when he visited Hawai'i.
