Just ended up in Jail for 3 years for refusing to pay taxes

so you could have

Convict 57

Passenger becomes convict 57

He thought an ancient law made it that the government could not legally demand tax from the US citizens is the story I heard

and of course ali is correct prisoner 57 would be better!

Does anyone know - 'cause I haven't been able to find anyhing online - why Snipes has refused to pay his taxes? Is it some sort of protest? Has anyone asked him publicly?

Does he have a history of taking a political stance? Alternatively, has he got a history of whimsically or arbitrarily subverting the law?

TIA

Money changes people. History is rife with rich and powerful people who destroyed themselves with easily avoidable mistakes simply because they thought the rules didn't apply to them anymore. Go ask Richard Hatch or Leona Helmsley.

I am glad that the svengali's who influenced him to pull such a foolish stunt got longer sentences than he did. Even so, he was smart enough to know better. Isn't he? In view of his apparent defiance at sentencing, it seems not.

Wesley 'don't jump' bail.

Snipes snipped.

Of his appeal: Snipes gripes!

What we'll see when he's away: Less Wes.

Prisoner 57 is the most obvious choice, no?
