Oops ... I had already clicked away from the hills to this ...

That reminds me of when, 19 years ago, there was talk of extending the rural water district on down the road where my elderly parents live. (They're in their 80's now.) Ever since Dad returned from serving in WW2, he had hauled water from town to their little place in the country. In 93, the water rural water district was being extended, but we had to battle tooth and nail to get it brought as far as my parents house only 1/2 mile outside the city limits.

Imagine Dad's delight when he no longer had to haul water twice a week. They went out and bought an automatic washer, because they no longer had to worry about running out of water.

Now, let's see ... the electricity company made how much in profits? and paid how much in bonuses? yet hide behind obfuscation and can't figure out some alternative process of supply that they might award the pensioner. I'm well in favour of SSI - but treating the independent elderly like that is beyond cruel, it's obscene. No, easier to wait till the chap dies of hypothermia and comment on Radio4 that it's such a shame.

You've got us baffled Baffy.
