| I'm looking for movies that are about cutting things. Not just movies that include someone cutting something like Edward Scissorhands...movies that are really ABOUT cutting, where all the action in the movie is nothing but cutting something. Of course if someone can think of one (other than the film my review was about), I lose because it means my review was indeed generic...I'm prepared to accept that. I'd rather resolve it and lose the review, knowing it was declined with good cause. But I'm pretty sure the film I'm thinking of is the only one that my review could really be about. |

| Only contenders I can think of are these old Armour Meats promotional shorts from the turn of the century [maybe a little later], Beheading Chinese, barbershop oldies, film-editing clip shows, etc etc. You may be right, but I can't get any closer till I know what you're talking about. |

Dammit. I guess that would be enough.
I was trying to add Andy Warhol's Haircut with "Action: Cut!" In my opinion it seems unnecessarily literal to call that generic but I certainly won't argue the point this time so I'll just resubmit with a plea that I think it seems original enough and leave it at that. |

| It's a nice review concept... but I'm inclined to think also that it wouldn't be out of place with Texas Chainsaw Massacre or some such. |

Or even the loathsome Saw, Saw II, Saw III.

| Didn't the murder in Fargo also include some cutting up? |

| That doesn't make the movie about cutting. Same with Saw. I just didn't think it was important enough to mention since I've already pulled the review. |

| It may be generic, but FWIW, I think it's still funny. |

It could also fit a Sweeny Todd movie which I gather is Depp's next project?
Despite that, just because a review could fit 2 or 3 films doesn't put it in the same 'Generic' league as "mad husband kills wife" etc etc.
It's still a clever review and original enough for inclusion to my way of thinking |

| If it is too 'generic' as a review, then you could always use it for an accolade featuring some of the above films. |

I bet there's a word or two that are somehow movie-related that you could add to the front of that to make it non-generic.
Actually, I've just thought of a word that you could put in the middle of it to make it pretty specific to that movie, without losing it's 'punchiness', although I won't say what it is as it ain't my review.
It's a good concept and worth working on.

| Breaking Away was about the kids of Stone Cutters in Bloomington, IN that beat the college kids in their annual little Indy 500 bike race - Barbershop movies too - more similiar to your choice. |

Knock yourself out. I'm not interested in saving it. I only like it the way I wrote it. I already have a completely different review anyway. |

Okay I appreciate the effort here but...
It's been a week. It's over.
And in any case, I did say movies that are about cutting, not every movie in existance that might have had something sharp in it. |
