Hope all of our FWFRers were out of harms way. |

| What a freak thing. My first thought was also to my fellow FWFRs in the area, and I hope everyone is okay. |

| I read this morning that, bizarrely, Britain is the world's tornado hotspot (by area). |

Sure doesn't look like Kansas to me, Toto.
(I heard that 70% of all tornados happen in the USA's great plains.) |

Whipper would like to report his near-miraculous escape from the tornado, being only about 10 miles away from the area at the time.

My 5 year-old has a book on tornadoes and yes the most tonadoes happen in the so-called Tornado alley that is essentially Texas north to Canada - but th ebiggest tornadoes happen in Florida which also has a lot of tornadoes. I file this under the category of things I never knew until my 4-year old taught me about it while teaching him about it. |

| Maybe some of you are more knowledgable about earth science, but is this a symptom of global warming? |

I don't think there's any doubt about that. |
