Hey folks. I thought I'd let you know that Mr Stupid has made an appearance in the fourum after far too long away. Any of you newies who're unfortunate enough to have not checked out his pages should do so now.
Mr Stupid's reviews
Mr Stupid is a young bloke from down south (USA), was active mostly in 2004, and as you can see from his excellent reviews, is anything but what his username suggests. |

Yup, Mr. Stupid has been much missed. His moniker is indicative of his very self-deprecating attitude, when in fact he is one of the best reviewers.
Please stay around this time! |

He was Stupid to leave, but being all dressed up I guess he had somewhere to go.

I can't help but notice your location is listed as Athens. Is this Athens, Georgia? Did you move from Boston? Do you have any involvement with the university there? (I'll still vote for your reviews, even if you are a bulldog) |

"The Athens of America" is Boston. It's only a slightly less arrogant self-proclaimed nickname than "The Hub of the Universe."
I was on a business trip and somehow ended up tailgating with a bunch of UGA fans (I say "somehow" because many of the details are a bit hazy now, as I'm sure you can guess) and I've simply remained loyal. |

I can see you are a Godzilla fan! Lots to vote on - but I don't get your top-rated review 'Luke. Pa. No Hand' (look pa, no hand?) Must not be 'stupid' enough |

Play on "Look dad, no hands" (when riding a bike, for example). Luke Skywalker, his Pa (Darth Vader), hand chopped off fighting with lightsaber
That was my take on it, anyway |

Precisely. Derived from the phrase "Look ma, no hands!" I've heard it several places and I'm not exactly what it's from. Maybe there's some classic movie or TV scene it comes from? Perhaps Little Rascals or Leave it to Beaver, as when I've heard it applied it's always been with small children.

But Mr. Stupid was gone for a couple of years; you were just gone for a couple of months. |

Um, you ramblin' wreck, I am a Bulldog. At least that's where I got my M.A. some thirty years ago. I toddled into Atlanta occasionally because I was writing about rock music back then [this was before B-52s and R.E.M., after the Brothers]. Enjoy your fine city -- it's truly one of the jewels of the Deep South. |
