He's only 2 years old, so he won't be able to read this for another few years, though if you go by what his daddy says, it will be by January 2008. But in any case, today is the 2nd birthday of my grandnephew, Brevan Austin Patrick Thrine, who was the first male baby born into my family since 1910. Brevan was his mother's choice, Austin was his father's, Patrick was mine and his new grandmother since we're Patricks, and I suppose he had to have the Thrine part, since mom and dad use it too. He grows every day, changes so much, and is such a delight. And now, my niece has told me she is expecting another bundle of lil boy joy in September. We are searching for a name.

That's a long time not having a boy born in the family.

Mazal Tov to the little one and also to the parents.

I couldn't resist. Here are some photos of Brevan and the family on Photobucket.

Brooke bought her wedding dress while she was still in high school and used it for her senior pictures. She was bound and determined to wear it for her wedding, but Brevan changed those plans. Brooke wouldn't get married until she could get back in the dress. Brevan was born May 5, the wedding was on July 1, so she did an admirable job on regaining her girlish figure.

The Thrine family pictures include Brooke, Brevan, and Nathan, and Nathan's son by an earlier relationship, who Brooke & Nathan are raising. She went from single, living at home, to married with 2 children, a house payment and 3 dogs in less than a year. No wonder her mother says she's grouchy!!!!!

The elderly woman in the photos is my aunt Georganna, who raised us after my mother's death. She is Grandma to Brooke & the boys. One photo is of my sister Patty and Brooke at Brooke's graduation in 2002. Oh, and I stuck in a picture of the infamous Ralph the Cat!!!

Hiya Brevan,
Now that you're old enough to read this(I hope your aunt bookmarked this page so that it was easy to find, benj has some timeout issues when searching archives), I hope you had a great 2nd birthday and 3rd and may be a fourth by now. Anyway here's a link for you to see some great 4 word reviews that you can vote on.

Cheers

Brooke is gorgeous. If the baby is a girl she'd better pass down that beautiful name too. :)

Yeah, babies have a tendency to make wedding dresses look not so great. I have a wedding picture up on my Myspace in honor of my fifth anniversary but this is the first time I've shown my wedding pictures because I look nothing like my usual self. More like a big round marshmallow. I'm glad we went ahead and got married, we'd already had the whole thing planned but it would have been nice to be thinner and not so sick. :)

Heheeeee!!! I'm not sure how my niece would feel about a FWFR baby!!! She wants to keep with the Br start of the name (her stepson is named Bryce), though I always thought that was a bit *too* precious. In any case, I've my own list of suggestions: Brady, Brayden, Brinley, Brodie, or Brynn, with perhaps an Alexander, Augustus (my great-great-grandfather's name), Ashton, Atticus or even Ashley (hey, it worked for Ashley Wilkes). Plus Brooke's name is Ashley Brooke. I'm all for the second middle name of either Patrick or Kelley, as those are our family names. Wow, I'd have saddled children with huge names had I had children!!

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I'm rather proud of them myself!

Great looking (and very happy) family, Livie.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BREVAN

P.S. Ralph the cat is the twin of our Rusty, currently fast asleep on the bed.
