Don't post in this thread then. It's energy sapping to lose so often.
On a nicer note, my folks just got back from visiting my brother, Markandlain in Queensland (about 2000km away). They brought back my birthday present - 8 classic videos. Triumph of the Will All Quiet on the Western Front Fellini's 8 1/2 & Satyricon Lang's Metropolis Chinatown Fitzcarraldo and the most intellectual of all Army of Darkness. What a brilliant birthday mix! Now I just have to wait for school holidays to enjoy them properly. |

Some intriguing titles there, Conan.
Ah, the things we do for fun...
I spent much of the weekend writing three variations on Youtube downloader script sets.
The challenge that I gave myself was to make youtube downloader webpages written entirely in Active Server Pages; the only ones I could find were written in PHP. Those are very nice, but I'm more familiar with ASP.
I began by examining where the 'magic' happens and then made two different scripts sets that made use of a php script to ferret out the actual youtube file url.
Then I went to work on writing an ASP script that would find the actual file url. The script I came up with isn't quite as effective as the php 'curl' script, but seems to be adequate.
I feel very pleased with this. WHY??? I don't know. But it sure was fun.
