Well, good luck with that, but my experience is that after you've suffered with the first one, you learn to sleep through the second one! Seriously, though - somehow nature helps with these things. If your first one didn't sleep well, the next one will be great and then watch out for the one after that - oy vey!
Mine were the other way around. My first son slept wonderfully, our second one gave us hell, and then our daughter slept six hours at night from the moment we got her home from the hospital.

My first child was a screamer, bless her heart. No sleep for me or hubby for the first year of her life. As soon as the second was born, we could tell he had a more peaceful temperament. We kind of looked at him like, hey, this is cool, maybe we can get some sleep this time around! |

Just so you know, they continue as they start. To this day my oldest son and my daughter would sleep for 18 hours a day, if they could, while my 2nd son still believes that sleep is highly overrated.
(But since he's almost 18 now, I don't lose any sleep over it anymore!) |

I regularly sleep 12 at least one night over the weekend which results in a strange feeling of jet lag on Monday morning at work.. |

Could be.
(And now if the rest of you would also fall into line, I'd be pleased to walk away as well... oh, no - that's fine, I'll turn off the light!)
