I did say that teenage sex in my corner of the world is a bigger problem. I wasn't speaking for the United States. This last school year, there were six girls at the high school (enrollment of around 400) who were all pregnant. It was like a measles epidemic. Some of the girls thought it was so cool that so-and-so had a baby and some got pregnant also. It was quite a controversy. (And no, we're not a throwback town.) This was a conscious choice by some. I'm not a prude, but I am alarmed at how quickly some kids want to grow up. It's difficult to see that some kids have made choices at 15 and 16 that are going to dictate the rest of their lives.

I also am not saying that I can't swear like a sailor at times, but I have found myself controlling that as I have grown older. What really bothers me is the way I've heard young men refer to their girls as "the bitch" or some other denegrating name and use the word fuck as an adjective in every sentence they utter.

In any event, I can't see how films have been the catalyst for these situations. :)

The respectful thing to call her is "my old lady."

This is the sort of thinking that could easily drive me to drink, drugs and a spree of meaningless one night stands. I'd be smoking now if only I hadn't given up last december.

But they're are, tv is quite influental, and they are part of it. Peers intensify this influence and there we have rotten Denmark.

Anyhow on topic... or something of it...
Here's the next future step of the MPAA regarding smoking in movies (as seen in the Thank You For Smoking):

Ditto

I wonder if we'd think all those old film stars were so glamorous if they weren't photographed in a smoke fog!
