Sorry, I really didn't mean to offend. I think I didn't express myself properly.
My point is, British actors seem to be acting and yet not acting - if you know what I mean. More like they're being real people (or is that becoming real characters) and not just playing a part. The truth is, I think that today's British actors are far better at their craft than the American ones we have today. Moreover, the British don't seem to look just for a "look" for their films and television shows, but rather for the best person for the part - the person who can pull it off. The Americans are just starting to see that good acting is more important than putting a big star in a role to draw viewers, and if the production is well done, the viewers will follow.
I'm sure I was duped by Hopkins' dry wit, and I'm sure he does know how much effort goes into acting and doing it really well - or he wouldn't be the amazing actor he is. But I think the trick is to act with such ability that it looks like you aren't acting at all. I think many American actors today have forgotten what that is and are caught up in their stardom or are resting on their laurals of past successes, and the results are second rate at best. As for the team effort, if your ego gets in the way of your acting, you can't work as a team. But British actors are still working to achieve a better performance than their last and to make that part of a whole production and not just the big name star.
(And of course, this is a generalization, and we know that all generalizations are false.)

Huh... you'd think that a show with a lead in of somthing as inane as "Deal or No Deal" would catch some of the back-draft from it. Apparently, American viewers have become so mindless that they would rather change channels away from a good program to something else equally inane.
I don't know about you, but I think game shows shouldn't be aired during prime time - especially these days when people can record programs so easily. |

NOOOOOOOOOOOO
Every year dammit. It happens every year. I get interested in 1 show and it gets cancelled. This was a great show too. Maybe another network will pick it up. Perhaps the Sci-Fi channel. It enough to want to not watch the 1st season of a show just in case it gets cancelled.
Edit: Hoping it was a rumor. I checked wikipedia. Even that confirms it. |

I know- now I bet we'll never find out what's going on with the time travelling.
And I'm still reeling from Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip being cancelled. Seriously, where's the justice? Right now I'm absolutely loving it, but there's this big countdown in my head to the final episode.
I sometimes wonder how feasible it would be for a cancelled show to be taken on by a non-profit company formed by it's fans (obviously, the show would have to be reasonably popular but a lot of these cancelled shows are still turning in 'disappointing' viewing figures in the millions in the US alone), who each donate a few dollars a week to film a new episode. |

They should actually make a 2nd shorter season to wrap everything up. To please the fans. If The series ends with a cliffhanger...Thats gonna tear me up inside. I dont care to visit Fan blogs that continue the story. I rather hear it or see it from the writers themselves. Oh well. Rack up another favorite show on the cancelled list:
THe Nine What About Brian The Class WinFall
The was another time travelling show....around 2004.. Aboout a guy who would play a certain song and it would take him back to the 80's. He would change something and that would change his future self. so the whole show was him going back to make his present right. I cant remember it.

Well, it does sound interesting, but there's no way of knowing if our sat company will get it or not. If it gets here, I'll let you guys know.
(And stop talking about Heroes - we've only had five episodes of the 2nd season here so far. I'm loving the Ireland bits and listening to Katie Carr's accent.)

| Wow! I just saw episode 12. It was the best episode yet. How can anyone justify axing this show? |
