Benj was responsible for the Inaugural NZ Confourence a couple of months ago, and then the Inaugural LA Confourence a week later. Perhaps he'll try and claim credit for the Inaugural Trans-Pacific Confourence as well (in LA), given that he crossed the Pacific from NZ to LA for the LA Confourence. Well that one doesn't count, in order to be valid one must actually be resident in one Pacific nation and cross the Pacific for a confourence in another Pacific nation.

So, the Inaugural Trans-Pacific Confourence has been planned (mostly), and will occur tomorrow, 22nd November 2007 in Nelson, New Zealand. Venue has yet to be decided. Confirmed present are:-

Sen
Cheese_Ed

All fwfrers are invited. Anyone else gonna be in attendance?

Inaugural Weekly Competition Vote Counters Confourence.

I honestly was looking at flights to get over there but you just had to have it on thefoxcub's 1st birthday, well, too close to it that I would miss it if I flew over to NZ.

I believe I was there at North America's first international confourence.

I KNOW I was there at the first transatlantic confourence.

So I will naturally be there at...

...what's that, Travelocity?

IT'S ALREADY HAPPENED??!?!

Cheese_Ed just rang, and the confourence will begin in about 2 hours. Mother nature has put on some perfect summery weather.

Confourence over. Pics in the gallery later. It involved vino at the Wheelhouse, then dinner and more vino. And some pics. After midnight here, so will say more about it tomorrow. The main thing is that fun times were had by Sean and Mr & Mrs Cheese.

Edit: OK, confourence report time. Mr and Mrs Cheese were staying here, so first thing on the menu was a bottle of pinot gris looking out the window over Tasman Bay. The view was pretty much as in those pics, except most of the snow over the bay is gone. Fwfr was discussed at length, as were fwfrers, some more than others . Cheese_Ed then presented me with.... a penguin T-shirt! He was rather surprised to hear that it is my only penguin T-shirt, he thought I might have a wardrobe full of them. But in a small town in NZ (50,000 people) I have never seen a penguin T-shirt, if I had I would have bought it. So now I've got penguins sitting on the stereo, a penguin calendar, and penguins all over my PC, and now one on my chest! Thanks, Cheese!

We then adjourned to town and dinner. I disappeared for 10 minutes as I realised I'd remembered to bring my penguins to the restaurant but left my camera at home! Dinner was an entree (I discovered that an entree means "main course" in the USA, here I mean starter) of delicious home made pate with crispy toast with roquefort cheese (of course ) and shredded pickled onion. Mains were prawns in a cream sauce with pasta for me and Mr Cheese, and Mrs Cheese had grilled snapper. Washed down with another pinot gris.

I then dropped the Cheeses back to the Wheelhouse shortly before midnight, and after a couple more pics the confourence ended. The Cheeses head south tomorrow, so we may catch up again later today. Anyway, as expected, the Cheeses are most amiable and easy-going, and it was a most enjoyable confourence. Needless to say they are most welcome back here for another holiday if they feel like crossing the Pacific again. And if I strike it rich then next time I'll put them up in my spare room that'll have a view like that from the Wheelhouse.

New pic in fwfr Facebook gallery.

Trans-Pacific Confourence Day 2.

Entirely at the Wheelhouse. It involved beers, pizza, music.... and a viewing of...
Monsturd!!!

So Cheese_Ed makes the third fwfrer after me and foxy to have seen this masterpiece.

So that's the end of the confourence. The Cheeses head to the West Coast tomorrow where it's likely to be rainy, hopefully not too much or for too long.

Edit: Pics in the Facebook gallery.

Sounds like a good time was had by all.

Added bonus for CheeseEd: The Packers beat the Lions in a very watchable Thanksgiving Day game.

Just popping in with a note from Wanaka - I was hoping the next copntests would be underway, but this time difference has got me mixed up.

The country is as fantastic as Sean is as a host. Had a great time at my first Confourence, as did the Mrs., we tried not to bore her with FWFR talk all night with limited success.

Many thanks for the spoiler Chris ! Had a recording of the game waiting for me at home and I've been avoiding sports news all week, but as least it was a happy ending spoiler.

More news later, just thought I'd say HI, thank Sean in the Fourum and let you know I'm still alive and trekking!

Cheese_NZ

PS - Monsturd really is a piece of shit.
