| Here's an ode to country music - that uniquely American (yes, Keith Urban) musical style. |

I'm in, with a scene from "The Blues Brothers". That bit where they turn up at Bob's Country Bunker, pretend to to be the Good Ole Boys, and proceed to play music, drink lots and upset everyone, especially Bob.
Elwood: What kind of music do you usually have here? Claire: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country and western. |

Marc Cohn's hauntingly beautiful "Walking In Memphis" is played on Country radio stations.
Title: Marc Cohn - Walking In Memphis lyrics
Artist: Marc Cohn
Put on my blue suede shoes And I boarded the plane Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues In the middle of the pouring rain W.C. Handy -- won't you look down over me Yeah I got a first class ticket But I'm as blue as a boy can be
Then I'm walking in Memphis Walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale Walking in Memphis But do I really feel the way I feel
Saw the ghost of Elvis On Union Avenue Followed him up to the gates of Graceland Then I watched him walk right through Now security they did not see him They just hovered 'round his tomb But there's a pretty little thing Waiting for the King Down in the Jungle Room
(Chorus)
They've got catfish on the table They've got gospel in the air And Reverend Green be glad to see you When you haven't got a prayer But boy you've got a prayer in Memphis
Now Muriel plays piano Every Friday at the Hollywood And they brought me down to see her And they asked me if I would -- Do a little number And I sang with all my might And she said -- "Tell me are you a Christian child?" And I said "Ma'am I am tonight"
(Chorus)
Put on my blue suede shoes And I boarded the plane Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues In the middle of the pouring rain Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues In the middle of the pouring rain

When you're ready to vote, remember that I'm collecting 'n' counting again this week.
I'd like to say "Here's a link to my PM page", but I haven't figured out how to take you straight there (I can't seem to log off, so the 'message user' thingy remains invisible). Never mind, click on my name and you'll get there. |

I have a cunning plan for solving this problem. You get the PM page for another user, then replace the ID number in the link with your own...
http://www.fwfr.com/message.asp?id=4758
E.g., that one's your link, if I replace 4758 with 3104 then it takes me to the "Message Sean" page.
So here's the Message Koli link. |

These Little Country Birdies really brought country music into the light when they spoke out against Bush.
Looks like they trying to clean up their act. |

Just a little different version of Titanpa's Dixie Chicks.
I'm so conditioned to click on the topmost entry for the avatar contest that I submitted this week's entry into next week's gallery. Anyone know how I can delete it? We used to be able to edit/delete our own, but I don't see that option in my browser anymore. |

Voted, although I used this page for the av list as the gallery isn't updated. |
