I arrived back this morning from 3 weeks of travelling to US and Europe, sitting in airport lounges, hotel rooms and taxis, I am tired and jetlagged to pieces but it still only 10 am, and I am fresh out of ideas.

In fact, the only thing on my mind right now is how much i dislike this kind of travelling (i.e. the work kind ), and so 'Travel' is all I can come up with.

I don't even have a decent entry lined up, for now I'll go with my default avatar of Pena Palace in Sintra, Portugal; hopefully will get round to updating it later ...

For anyone interested (where's AC when you need him), here is the latest bife's travels accolade

Ok, better than Pena Palace, I hope.

bife, if you get a chance, could you re-name this thread:
Avatar Contest #196 - Travel

As I've been putting the gallery together and reviewing our history I found out exactly how many contests we've completed - the Av contest is the oldest of them all! I'd like to keep the numbering thing going like other contests.

Straight outta Kazakhstan, and touring America...its Borat. You must have the appropriate attire for your travels - like swim wear.

See the USA in your Chevrolet
America is asking you to call
Drive your Chevrolet through the USA
America's the greatest land of all

On a highway, or a road along the levy
Performance is sweeter, nothing can beat her
Life is completer in a Chevy

So make a date today to see the USA
And see it in your Chevrolet

Traveling East, Traveling West
Wherever you go Chevy service is best
Southward or North, near place or far
There's a Chevrolet dealer for your Chevrolet car

So make a date today to see the USA
And see it in your Chevrolet.

I have to wonder how many of you either hummed that song or heard it in your heads when you read it...

When Ed sees this he thinks - why would you have to travel to see cows...

To hell with political correctness. Be honest, if you're a Royal one of the delights of travel is seeing the indigenous folk in all their glory, preferably with their bits hanging out.

Edit: I should have mentioned that this is Prince Charles in Australia.

Before a long road trip, I always stock up Funky Fresh car air fresheners.

A breath of fresh Air(edale)! That new Car(re de l'Est) smell!

You know, I like you, my old Wisconsin friend, but this has got to be the BIGGEST stretch I've ever seen from you!

(Mind you, I've only been here just over two years, so I could be wrong!)

Is it? I would consider this only a mild stretch compared to where I've been. Someday I'm going to make a gallery of all my avs and you'll seem some REAL stretches!

I don't troll the web for chocolate, penguin or martini avs, mind you, but I think I must have it the easiest of all us theme players. The wealth of cheese themed crap out there is amazing, not to mention all the cheese characters, cheese costumes, types of cheese from all over the world, etc... I really set myself up well.
