Comments welcome.

Gosh, but you're a good writer.

For me, the first few eps of Season Three represent the show's low point to date. Unlike you, I didn't mind meeting tailies in Season Two and, having caught the Oz references, was instantly intrigued by and skeptical of Ben* -- as, evidently, were the producers, who wrote his character in deeper than had previously been intended. Halfway through Season Four, we still don't know what, in the end, to make of him. But that interminable stretch in the Others' compound? Snooze and deep disappointment.

The turning point came later in Season Three, in what I considered a "short story" within the greater narrative, the fate of Nikki and Paulo which you cited. [Her last words were creepy!] Not just because the producers killed off two extraneous characters, but because that frisson button stayed pushed: anybody can go at any time. I read long ago that most of the LOST actors have to rent rather than buy property, because the nature of the show means they don't know how long they'll be working. [You do tend get at least one valedictory appearance later, as Dominic Monaghan had in the first ep of Season Four.] Can at least the Oceanic Six start talking to realtors?

The flash forward at the end of Three was a touch of genius, and I did NOT see it coming. And Season Four has been a nail-chewing, gasp-making delight all the way through. [Last week's brilliant flash-both-directions with Sun and Jin I DID see coming; otherwise the Jin portion would have just been banal.]

I'm so glad LOST got its mojo back. These are smart people who love playing with convention; the opening shots of Season Two and Season Three actually make you think you're tuned into the wrong channel. I love being teased like that.

*By the way, the in-jokes just kept coming as Ben arrived. Remember the flashback to Ben's mother dying in the jungle? The actress was Carrie Preston, Michael Emerson's real-life wife. That's right, Dr. Freud, his wife played his mom.

Thanks, Randall. Appreciated. I am working on the second part now. And I agree with you - so glad the show had such an incredible turn around...

Watch carefully: you already have six. Remember the trip to the gravesite -- it can't be on the island, can it? If not, then how did s/he rate the headstone if s/he wasn't one of the Six?

So: WHO was it whose interment disturbed Jack so much?

Randall - The person at the gravesite can't be one of the six. Their date of death was the date of the crash. I don't think they are alive and on the island - I think they died, yet their death was covered by the Six's cover story.

I have a feeling we might get to see two deaths this season at least: the person that two of the survivors went to visit last episode, and the person who is inexorably linked to three of the people who have managed to get off the island (and one of them wasn't technically on the flight)...

I love this season so much. And this cryptic dialogue is also fun, no?

I have an XS shirt worn by "Kate" during a season one episode(soiled too), an autographed pic of one of the "Others". Also Naveen Andrews is renting a home 2 blocks from my house. :)

I guess the kid who played Walt didnt want to return. Guess he didnt get over being home sick.

Malcolm David Kelley has come back before, and he will return, according to the producers. It's just that he is, like, 6 feet tall now. But they said they are going to work around that.

We know that there is a time lapse travelling to and fro the island. I have a feeling that there is a spot between the ocean and the island where time moves slower, and there might be another Dharma station there, in which Ben (or someone else) might be keeping Walt. I'm spitballing.

I watched an enhanced version of Lost tonight. I was told to dial the number that was seen on the television during the show

Americans can dial: 1-888-548-0034

I dont know if there are any numbers for over seas.

Btw. If I were a family member. I'd be pretty pissed off.

LOL
