If I have a sudden flash of inspiration (or insincerity/cynicism) I'll swap it, but my default option is a tad serious.

This is a pic of the Soweto uprising in South Africa about 30 years ago. White rule in SA was a massive obstacle, but somehow it was overcome - and the miracle is that it was achieved without the bloodbath that many feared.

More here.

I think that's a doctored version of a clip recently shown on British TV as part of a programme about items on YouTube and similar sites. The original shows the adult panda musing quietly then staring down in shock after its offspring has let out a loud shriek. Am I right?

I have it on good information that this was an ACTUAL post-lunch encounter.

Actually, I don't know the original context. I found four of them doctored. In one the panda reacts to a flasher, in another, it craps out a human head (I don't know who), I don't recall the third, and the fourth is what you see here. The original? Graphics and video-editing programs are fast making originals darned near forgettable.

Some people face obstacles, some people overcome obstacles, and some have obstacles thrust upon them.

Interesting idea, but I somehow doubt they'd let you drive your prize home - at least not right away!
