You havent seen the one with Sal and me, Shergar, Lord Lucan, Elvis and two dozen Yetis?

I've seen that one although it looks faked to me - I'm sure that Elvis was added afterwards using Photoshop or something.

Careful BB.

Princess Diana suggested that too, and next thing you know...

Just sayin'.

I assume we're meeting in the centre of town? I'll be working that day and finishing at about 6ish so I can head down afterwards.

WhoooHoo! We'll seat you next to me, okay?

Bugger- I'd completely forgotten to get back to you about this. Looks like I've left it a bit late now

REPORT

Well, Bigger Boat, Chocolate Lady, Alon (Mr Chocolate Lady ) and little 'ol me met up in London, went for a pizza and caught a film at the British Film Institute on the Southbank.

A great time was had by all.

CL has a phonecamera pic which she'll put up when she gets a chance.

Nope, first of all that would have been a lie and second of all it would have confused everything had things changed. And I don't like personal messages (because of the faff they usually involve in replying to them).

I'm working tomorrow but around on the 5th if that is still a possibility.

Whip took us to see Rouben Mamoulian's 'Love Me Tonight', a positively charming musical that had us all in raptures by the time we streamed out. A shame that more of you couldn't have made it but I'm sure there will be plenty more chances before 2012 when the world ends (according to Roland Emmirich). I think I'll be attending more films at the BFI so I'll let you know when I'm going in future.

I've just called that number and it turns out to be a different Express by Holiday Inn. I got the number for the Stratford one and they could find no guest under Chazan.

Would you like the room number, Salopian?

Well, I spelt the name quite carefully and the receptionist seemed sure they weren't there. Perhaps they are spending a romantic secluded few days as 'Mr and Mrs Smith' since you saw them. I'll send C.L. a message with my number.

Tomorrow there is a free film (about skiing or something, but supposedly good) at the P.C.C. at 6:30, including -- wahey! -- free Red Bull, so that might be worth considering.

No, I had similar problems getting their room number, but obviously some of us are better at problem-solving than others.

Or some of us trust staff to be competent and honest. N.B. I didn't try to get their room number; I just asked to leave a message.

Well, sorry to hear you weren't able to solve the problem, which, incidentally, has nothing to do with the staff's honesty or competence.

Such a shame.

I met up with Mr & Mrs Chockie yesterday. (Incidentally, the hotel problem was that they'd got the room in Mr Chockie's first name; that's why when Sal and I rang they denied all knowledge of them.)

We met up in Covent Garden and went for a coffee and beer (not always a good combination but it seemed to work on this occasion), in a nearby cafe. We split up on the Piccadily Line, when the Chockies changed train at Holborn and I carried on to Euston. Tonight they're flying home via Frankfurt.

There was precious little gossip about those mentioned in this thread, or other FWFRers, but I had a thoroughly enjoyable chat with Davida and Alon about everything from opera to international politics.

Unfortunately we were all incommunicado because we were away from our PCs for several days, and so were unaware of Benj's and Sal's efforts to fix something up at the last minute.

If I were smart I'd write something like "great to meet you both; have a good flight home", in Hebrew, but I think we all know that even with the aid of Google Translate it would come out as "the badger has more luck than the sheep; where was the skating stand-up dude?"

Standard Mossad procedure - I thought everyone knew that.
