Wasn't it an incredible co-incidence that the missionary who came to convert the Irish was named Patrick, such an Irish name?

Apparently, the snake thing is a myth. quote: The most recent ice age began about three million years ago and continues into the present. Between warm periods like the current climate, glaciers have advanced and retreated more than 20 times, often completely blanketing Ireland with ice. Snakes, being cold-blooded animals, simply aren't able to survive in areas where the ground is frozen year round. Ireland thawed out for the last time only 15,000 years ago. Since then, 12 miles of icy-cold water in the Northern Channel have separated Ireland from neighboring Scotland, which does harbor a few species of snakes. There are no snakes in Ireland for the simple reason that they can't get there. National Zoo
Whatever ... this may just be the day St Patrick drove the snot out of SnotBabe ... let's hope!!

St. Patrick's day has always been a lock for me. I've never worn green because, after all, my last name is Patrick, I wear it all the time. Since I quit drinking 5 - almost 6 - years ago, I don't tip the mug, but I did go to the Dairy Queen today with my goddaughter and her sons and get one of those weird green milkshakes and I teared up last night when Regis Philbin and Craig Ferguson sang the Irish Lullaby last night. However, I'm even happier today that, less than 10 days after the temperature outside was 18 degrees, the thermometer tipped at 71 degrees!
And top o' the evening to ya all. |
