... in more ways than one.

To make a long story short, I'm being let go from my job at the end of this month after 22 wonderful years of employment (with a very nice severance package, I might add. That's important, because my husband is now unemployed as of December 1).

However, as of January 10, I'll be starting a new position which, to begin with, will be to replace a girl going on maternity leave. While nothing is guaranteed, there's a good possibility I could turn it into a permanent position (my new boss has some ideas... Fingers crossed). In any case, being the secretary to the CEO of CITIBank will look good on my CV.

My new job is a bit of a commute, but the trains here have WIFI and I'll be buying a laptop, so I hope I'll still be active here. Also, as I have a HUNK of vacation time coming to me, I might take a short trip somewhere - maybe London - later this month. If so, I'll let you all know and maybe we can have a little conFOURance!

We now return you to your regular programming.

That's a pretty nice silver lining to your cloud, congrats on the new job.

Just think time to FWFR every day on your commute, sweet!

best of luck

Thanks, all! Of course, my travel plans aren't looking too bright right now. I guess living in Israel makes one forget that people like to travel from the end of December to early January.

Still, if I can get something last minute, I'll let you all know.

Ah, well... I would gladly do so but CITIBank here doesn't have a mortgage department. Its all corporate/trade/investment with extremely exclusive private banking.

(Gosh, I really need to buy some new clothes!)

Looks like I have something!

I am landing London Heathrow on December 18th (at about 10:00). I will stay until about the 21st when I have to find my way to Cologne for my flight back on the 22nd.

So... any volunteers to put me up???

Best of luck with the new job, hope you enjoy it!

I'll be around when you're over (since I work in London) so I'd definitely be up for a confourance. When it comes to putting you up, however... I live about an hour's commute away

And there's no WiFi on my sodding train, I'm lucky to get a seat never mind an internet connection!

Well, I'm off for the airport now. I'll be staying at the Star Hotel in Hammersmith. Anyone who wants to contact me can leave me a message there - their number is 207-603-2755.
