Dear All

I've entered a BBC essay contest, and they've just reproduced my entry online here.

I'm not sure, but I think the more people who say they like the story the better chance I have of getting it included in a book they're planning to publish next year.

I do hope you'll read the piece - it's not very long, and is about some of my experiences at the LA Zoo with two young orangutans. There are a few taster paragraphs and then a chance to read the whole thing.

And, if you do like it, I hope you'll say so.

Many thanks and have a lovely winter thing.

Same here. I liked the story a lot - it had different levels and layers to it. The 10th most liked story had around 250+ votes, btw.

Thanks for the kind words - I'm glad you and bife liked it.

I'm wondering whether the votes have to come from the UK. The contest was only open to UK residents. I'm hoping to gather more votes, though ... my piece has only been up for a two days and the BBC started posting stories months ago.

I loved the story. Apparently, the site took my vote. It said, "Thanks for your rating."
