Tarzan Finds a Son--'Weissmuller, Mia's momma parents'

Sorry about the great 's'cape in Weissmuller. I do know how to spell it. These things happen sometimes.

As for the review, Maureen O'Sullivan plays Jane in the film. She and director john Farrow had a daughter named Mia, hence 'Mia's momma'. Consequently Tarzan (Weissmuller)and Jane (O'Sullivan) are parents, albeit adoptive.

Thanks for pointing the review out. Always good for a few extra votes.

My fault on the Noel spelling, not Benj's. I know the oolong should go over the "e", not the "o", but a) I was rushed when I wrote it, b) I could find an "e" with two damn dots above on my Character map.

I'll try to submit a replacement, but hope you can forgive me, in the spirit of, y'know, Xmas.

Yup, I never thought Benj had done it. But he is the only one who can change it without it being resubmitted. (I'm still surprised, though, that instead of leaving the accent off altogether, you put it on a different letter!)

Bear in mind that you can order the film pages chronologically. You don't need to know the dates in order to know which came first.

I know how you feel about that later review, Emily, but as has been said, snappy reviews are often quite popular, including with me. (Nevertheless, I will now go and check that I have voted on your version.) You should think of it as an edit - I say that because it is my justification for this.

I like that review. Didn't notice it before. So, sent you a vote.
You're right. Yours is better. I hadn't thought of the Mama Mia musical or ABBA song. Although, I have gone to see it.

Good tip about reordering chronologically the film page. I had been clicking onto the reviewers and checking on their pages to find out when they had the review approved by date. Lots of clicking. Too much clicking. Your tip will save me lots of frustration.

EM :)

When my review was posted I was wrapped, thinking this is going to be a big one.

I then went to the page to see what the best rating review for the movie was, to my shock, I saw yours.

I usually read all reviews for a movie before writing one to avoid duplication. I can honesty say that I did not visit the page first.

In saying that, I probably still would have posted it.
As Salopian pointed out is is a lot shorter and different spelling.

My spelling was inspired by ABBA's musical stage show.

I have always avoided putting my "Mamma Mia" in Sean's FYC Treasure Hunt cause I felt a little uneasy about the review.

Just for the record....I have voted for your "Momma Mia, Daddy Satan!"

Okay, thefoxboy, I tried not to upset you by leaving your name off my complaint. Sorry. I am new to the fourum and so have a lot of niffs and naws that I have been holding onto. I've emailed Benj in the past. I see now, it's easier to just write any questions and comments in here.

Thanks for the vote. I'll go through your page and see which ones I like best as a return favor. I'll get back to you to reveal which ones I chose.

The Mamma Mia (show, song) is a valid argument, in my review I was using it like the Italian expression for surprise!

Thanks! I've broken into the 30s now. But whenever that review creeps up by 1, the bottom of the Top 100 seems to have crept up by 1 too!

I've just been through your Top 100. I was going to add one of your reviews to bife's best of the best thread (where people listed their favourite review by each reviewer), but it has been archived. You have got some good ones there, but my favourite is probably "Skinny-dipper becomes skinnier dipper".

By the way, in case you haven't noticed, when you reply to someone, the
at the end of their bit is a few lines down, so you need to make sure that you don't accidentally write above it.

My thefoxboy picks:

Makin' Bacon play chicken.
Zeta-Jones replaces Wilson.
Brat Pack lights up.
Cruise has no Independence.
Space sends in Klowns.
Mozart was a punk. (How true.)
Bowler develops severe hook.
Kidman has Moore nose.
Postman never rings once! (You're right. )
Damn spider stops breakfast. (funny!)
Large fries. Large thighs. (I have many for this movie and didn't come up with that kind of thought.)
Oh deer. (I think this is the best Godzilla vs. Bambi one I've seen.)
(Could it also work for Deerhunter? That movie made me say that.)
Godzilla makes a coaster.
Bacon becomes Spam.
Room with a spew.
Caan cancels dancing lessons.
Karate lessons = slave labour.
PhenomeNOT.
Tent isn't ghost proof.

AND
Said he'd be back.

I went through all your pages for those. But, just so you don't think I'm too hard of a judge for not choosing more. You had a lot of movies I haven't seen and I'm not really a Bond fan, so don't know those well enough to vote.

Hope this makes us square for me picking on your Mama Mia review.

EM :)

I'm still learning. I was trying not to have the whole quote show each time. Others are able to just show a piece of it. The piece they're talking about. So, do I delete what I don't want to show, but just make sure to leave the /quote part in so it's recognized as a quote from the other poster?

You did it right then, but unfortunately the
in my text interfered with it! It is fine to delete some of the text, but just keep the bit at the top which ends with br in square brackets. I have just realised that I don't know what the function of that is, but I always leaves it and it seems to work.

Actually, perhaps it makes sure that the quoted text is on a new line after Originally posted by so-and-so.

Okay, confession time - I've only voted for 10 of your top 20. About 5 I didn't understand and 5 I just didn't vote for

Don't know if you were talking to me, but I went through your top reviews, don't know how many, and gave them a push.

Thanks EM,
I glad someone liked my Charlottes Web review
I great man (SEAN) taught me that all votes received have rubber bands on them. So you can expect a visit from my voting stick soon.

As many in the fourum can tell you, I am not shy on giving votes

I'll be watching. The Charlotte's Web review is inspired. Really like the Send in Klowns reference, too. That song is nauseating!
