As a professional proofreader and a freelance writer/proofreader/editor, I have a rather serious concern that I would like the group's help with:

Are we fwiffers or foofers??????????????

I suppose fwoofers would be acceptable, too. For that matter, just shoot the works, and give me your own personal take on the un-acronym.

Your help with this useless piece of fluff is greatly appreciated!

Fwiffer, as in "service fwiffer smile".

. . . as in "the fwifferer picker-upper"??????

(ow! my lips!)

Fwiffer is a review. Fwifferer is somebody who writes one.

I didn't even mention: I've always seen it as "foofer." Something about the "fw" combo in "fwiffer" that corrupts the lips . . . and not in a good way!

www.fwiffer.com

This is clearly outside the realm of grammar - I say do what you like.
TitanPa Posted - 10/25/2006 : 17:12:36
I use Fwiffers (plural) or Fwuffer(singular).

I like 'fwiffer.'

No idea why, but I have believed it to be 'fwiffer' for about three years now ....

"Not that there's anything wrong with that".
