I know you've all noticed I've been away recently (again). Well I've just moved to university up in the cold, cold north. Sheffield is currently feeling the benefits of shoon's prescence (the bars benefit especially), and will continue to do so for 3 years at least.

It's nice here, although as I mentioned, a bit cold. I also have a laptop now, so the typing is a little difficult, what with the keyboard being smaller and all. Already had what is probably the most embarrassing experience of my lif so far, I will explain in detail, depending on 2 varialbes;

Time, that oh so unforgiving of mistresses
Whether I am sure that my mental health will not be damaged by recalling said event.

Anyway, just dropping in to say hi, hopefully I should be back reviewing and such by the end of the month.

PS Please tell me of any typing errors you see, it'll help me get used to the mistakes I make. Stupid small laptop.

Good luck with drinking studying, shoon. And say Hi to my cousin if you see him, he lives in Sheffield.

You'll get used to the stupid laptop. I did. Although if you use it at home much, you could get an external keyboard. I did.

Keep the fwfrs coming.

Best of luck, buddy! As for your typing, except for "lif" instead of "life" you did a good job with that post. Those keyboards are one of the main reasons I've never gotten myself a laptop. The other is those darned touch-pads or joysticks they put into the things instead of using a mouse. Of course, now you can get little mice with USB or bluetooth connections to clear that up. But that still doesn't help with the keyboards.

So, what are you reading? Anything film related or something mundane like rocket science or brain surgery?

Well I think I'll make this a monthly thing. Shoon's life in Sheffied. Ahhh.

Anyways, things are busy busy busy atm. I have 2 book reviews for next week, an essay for 2 weeks and 2 essays for 4 weeks from now, a total of 11 thousand word. Argh! Going OK though, I'm kinda on top of everything. Circumstances have helped, I was a bit ill so couldn't go out, so I worked, and my girlfriend and I broke up, so I haven't felt like going out this week. Work helps, takes my mind off it.

As you can hopefully see, my typing has improved, but when I go home I can't type on those big keyboards. Damn things. I couldn't hack a TP mouse, got an external one after 5 days.

I am also on 2 teams nowadays; american football and ultimate frisbee. I shall post pictures of myself playing these sports at some point, but I have a gumsheild and everything now, as well as my very own frisbee.

As some of you may know, I am exceptionally injury prone, and sure enough I jarred and pulled my left shoulder playing frisbee. I landed on it, claimed I was fine and played with a pulled shoulder, until I ran full speed into a wall. Carried on with a jarred shoulder until I landed on it and smacked into a bin, when I stopped. I also had my lip split from an elbow jumping for a catch. I bruised my ribs playing football and broke my little finger. Enjoying it though, I'm used to playing with injuries now. Always something wrong with me.

My initiation for the frisbee team is ongoing. I had to eat a full 2 foot baguette as quick as possible, with the loser having to down a pint of Guiness immediately after finishing the bread. I was second in 27 minutes. The next morning was not fun, if you catch my drift. I also had to drink 3 pints of cider out of a frisbee (yes, they hold 3 pints), and now apprently I have to pull 3 people in one night or eat a mystery toastie (the mystery is whether I'll live after consuming it, I think). Needless to say, what with my morals and being self catered and all, I could use the toastie, no matter what's in it.

And duh, I'm a student. I wash my hair when it starts moving as a single entity, and I can only afford standard toilet paper as opposed to the nice cushioned stuff, haircuts are at the bottom of my list. Although It's hard to see at the moment. Ha ha.

Some photos of my experiences so far:

Me and my flat mate as Frenchmen. He bought new things, I used old things and claimed I was colourblind.
Me making a pass to score in frisbee (it's in my hand, lok at the open guy, I passed it to him)
Me after 12 ciders

Oh and I just finished a Photoshop course. Here's what I ended up making (1 and 2), I'm quite proud of it.

Oh and I forgot to add, stay tuned for another episode boys and girls, I'll be posting here again probably a similar time next month. I can become a cult figure, finally! Might be good practice, writing a column such as this, for my aspiring fim critic hopes. Ha ha.

Next installment: shoon's 3rd anniversary party. *prepares party hat*

Turn up with your own drink, whatever's here already is mine.

I love Ultimate Frisbee. I play it at least 5-6 times a year on the beach with some of my buds. We once played it at a park while the sprinklers were on! That was the best.

Geez you're a pretty kid.

Sweet old granny voice: My what a handsome young man you are.

It is terrific that you're having fun along with your academics. My son is in technical college and he is extremely introverted and isn't having near as much fun as you're having. I guess he'll be a late bloomer.

Dammit, I miss uni life already. Remember to have great fun and also join a film making society if you can. To be honest, that was the coolest thing I did in university.

Coming soon: shoon on his way to winning MVP at a frisbee tournament. Plus pictures of an amusing/athletic nature.

Well, as I said, I recently won MVP at a frisbee tournament in Loughborough. They gave me a nice looking frisbee to commemorate the occasion. I scored 18 points over the course of the tournament, and made a few blocks as well. However, my personal highlight was outjumping a person from Oxford University. He was 6 feet 2, bragging about how awesome his team was. I outjumped him twice (bear in mind I'm 5 feet 8) and we won 12-0. Very satisfying.

Pictures of Halloween celebrations, frisbee extravanganzas and everything else following it will be posted in my anniversary post. Until then, a post will probably come detailing the many twists and turns in my love life, depending on how melancholy I feel at the time.

Incidentally, no one minds me keeping this journal of sorts do they? I'm quite enjoying writing it.

I'm not sure whether to be angry or amused...

On a separate note, I'm not entirely sure when my anniversary is. The date thing on the members section confuses me no end, but I think it's November 20th.

Also, I have my first 2 marks back. 2 book reviews. I didn't read either book, I read the intro and the conclusion. I wrote one 3 hours before the deadline and one drunk.

61 and 62. High 2.1s that should move up to a 1 when I become more experienced, apparently.
