And now I'm editing it just because I have the right to change my mind. I think this would be a much better soundtrack, even if it has less Stones (maybe we need more scenes):

Opening Credits: Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White - Minor Threat
Waking Up: Sunday Morning Coming Down - Johnny Cash
Falling in Love: Sweet Jane - The Velvet Underground
Fight Scene: Iron Man - Black Sabbath
Breaking Up: Love in Vain - Robert Johnson
Getting Back Together: Tell Me - The Rolling Stones
Life's OK: Rock and Roll - The Velvet Underground
Mental Breakdown: Sister Morphine - The Rolling Stones
Partying: Ray of Light - Madonna
Long Night Alone: You Gotta Move - The Rolling Stones
Final Battle: Battle Without Honor or Humanity - Tomoyasu Hotei
Death Scene: With or Without You - U2
End Credits: Keep on the Sunny Side - The Carter Family

With or without you was a perfect choice... pretty rocking besides that! (right, I'm off to get my hands on some more stones albums!)

Truly excellent selection, Wheelz! I know what you mean about "completely different list" tomorrow," but that's what makes it fun. Right off the top of your head can inspire some great combos!

In particular, I love "Back Door" for "Life's OK" and "I Can't Make You Love Me" for "Long Night Alone." That second would also make a fantastic "Breaking Up" classic!

Big fun! Keep it goin', kids! More, more, more!!!!!

Thanks for the compliment redPen!

If you liked those, I urge you to seek out any of the songs on my list you aren't already familiar with; I stuck a few pretty obscure selections in there (Elvis Brothers, Beat Farmers). I haven't had lots of time to do so, but I plan to find the selections of others that I don't know... Can't wait to find out what a song called "Cut Your Hair" sounds like!

What a great way to discover some new music!!

Well Cut Your Hair is a classic early American indie song, which smacks of slackerness (dont know if that was a word). It was done by a band called Pavement. I thought it was perfect for the beginning of my movie, that I wanted to use it in my student movie about two slackers, but alas I never got around of making that movie.

Here is a link to a music video they did.

Tough one, at first I went for obvious tracks that talked or rather sung you through the scene, so Nilsson's "Gotta Get Up" for Waking Up, Napoleon XIV's "They're Coming To Take Me Away" for Mental Breakdown etc.
I then thought, be less literal and go for mood tracks and ended up copying existing soundtracks and over using certain groups.
So finally decided on a mix of mood and literal tracks, old and new. known and unknown

Opening Credits: The Light Of Experience - Gheorghe Zamfir
Waking Up: Bad To The Bone - George Thorogood
Falling in Love: Wicked Game - Chris Isaac
Fight Scene: Rock And Roll - Led Zep
Breaking Up: Go - Gigliola Cinquetti
Getting Back Together: You Shook Me All Night Long - AC DC
Life's OK: Don't Worry, Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin
Mental Breakdown: Ego, The Living Planet - Monster Magnet
Partying: Ballroom Blitz - The Sweet
Long Night Alone: Me, Myself, I - Joan Armatrading
Final Battle: Melt - Monster Magnet
Death Scene: If You Go Away - Shirley Bassey
End Credits: Everybody Knows - Leonard Cohen

Also, before the Final Battle, I'd have

Calm Before The Storm: Laguna Sunrise - Black Sabbath

Damn, that was fun. Nice one Mampers

As a writer/editor, my rule is: If there ain't a word for it, make one up! And you should know that, being a participant in the fwfr game "Jargling"! It's a thesauratic (yes, I made that up) hoot!
