I love the episode where they go to check-in to a hotel and she says "Boo-Kay" and there's no one registered as Boo-Kay, the husband then tells them to check the register for "Bucket"

No, there's a big difference.

Not to me. Typos annoy me wherever they are.

The difference is that reviews are the substantive part of the site and thus should be made correct when not. There is also for this reason an onus on the reviewer to check them when submitted. Fourum posts are transient and thus there should be no expectation that people should proofread them. They also contain a lot more characters and thus typos are much more likely to occur.

True. Mind you, I don't proof-read posts. Typos tend to jump out at me with bells ringing, particularly if they occur in titles (e.g., thread titles), as they do in reviews.

I meant that people don't need to proofread (i.e. read at all) their own posts.

I've heard that "vase" is pronounced differently in the UK, US, & Canada.

In the UK, it rhymes with "pause". (thanks GH, below)
In the US, it rhymes with "pace".
In Canada, it rhymes with "pays".

Of course, we Canadians pronounce "sofa" as "chesterfield". And don't get us started on "lieutenent".

I was under the impression that the British pronunciation rhymes with "pause."

Just to confuse the issue, Kiwis would pronounce it "vaarz". Except that we don't bother saying our "r's" so ignore the "r". Perhaps I'd best write it as "vaahz".

Down here it's nothing like "pause" which is pronounced identical to "paws" and "pores" and "pours".

My (English) pronunciation would have it rhyming with "cars".

Not sure I would even understand it if it rhymed the "pause"

With the Standard American accent, "pause" rhymes with The Wizard of "Oz."

How about

" The Hostile Caribbean Man threw a tomato at the Aluminium "( now theres a film i would pay to see! )

My take -
US - The Hoss-Tell Cah-ribby-an Man threw a Toe-Mate-Oh at the Aloo-min-um "

UK - The Hoss-Tile Carib- Beeyan Man threw a Toe-Mar-Toe at the Al-you-minny-um

This is fun!
