Has nobody mentioned that crazy frog song? If there's ever been a song that's almost turned me into a machine-gun-toting slaughter-everyone-in-the-local-fast-food-joint crazed-psycho-killer it was that one. And I've only heard it once. |

Additions to the hate list:
Barry Manilow Celine Dion (already mentioned, I know, but hey...) Barbra Streisand Rap/Hip-hop/Gangsta type music (Jeez, i sound old) Boy George/Culture Club Wham! & George Michael "It's Raining Men" by the Weather Girls brings back unpleasant memories of a close encounter in a Newcastle nightclub Country music is a generic dislike, especially the wailing Pat Boone type of stuff, that my in-laws have been known to listen to.
What happens if you play a Country & Western song backwards? Your dog comes home, you get your house back, and your wife leaves your best friend. |

Damn you, I'd actually managed to put this one out of my mind, but now, I remember. I REMEMBER DAMMIT!
Paul Anka's cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
He produced this album last year, and frankly, if you're looking for sh..te songs, I can't imagine the other tracks are going to be much of an improvement. Dear God NOOOOO

I haven't heard Anything by Hall & Oates... is it related to Various's And Many More?
Lots of thought went into your list but as an officially listed annoying parent/teacher I have played a few of those to my kids.
I think he means [You Are] Everything by Hall & Oats - that is certainly one of their most annoying songs. They were funny on Will & Grace, though.
Hm... where's that stupid "Birdy" dance song. It should be on this list, I'm sure!
Actually, I meant anything that Hall & Oates ever did. I hated Hall & Oates. There was a concert that a whole group of us went to back in the mid 80s. Somehow we ended up at a gay night club with a couple girls who had no clue that one of our group was gay until we got to the club. What followed was an insane night with a drunk, disillusioned ex-girlfriend of the guy who had recently come out of the closet tossing her cookies in an alleyway in downtown Indianapolis. I'll forever associate Hall & Oates with that night and cringe when I hear one of their songs. It was ugly.

That takes us to a new subject. Which song takes you where?
For me 'Tainted Love' by Softcell takes me back to 1982, rollerskating in the dark with a torch. Was the first time I had rollerskated and the last.

Don't Pay The Ferryman by Chris De Burgh. I was driving on narrow, winding dirt roads through the state forest, going like a bat out of hell having recently gained my licence. It made the song some what ironic as my driving abilities made it nearly a dead cert of visiting the Ferryman early.
PS Nice resurrection and redirection of the topic. |
