'He' has now overtaken me (and damalc and Dante and Mr Stupid). This is the thing I have dreaded since 'he' was invented. It pains me so much that A.C.'s "Trans parent" has contributed towards pushing me down the list below a nonexistent reviewer.
I don't think that Alan Smithee should be allowed to have reviews that offend anyone. If people do not want them/do not want to stand by them and be counted, then all of the 'free speech' arguments are completely redundant.
However, much more strongly than even that, I just don't think that Alan Smithee should be in the rankings. 'He' is great as a general idea, but it's wrong that people's amalgamated trash and shame should come ahead of real individuals. Benj, can he please not be excluded from them? |

| curse it! i just gave Smithee one, not because it was offensive or i was embarrassed, but i basically lifted it from a mainstream reviewer. and he's passed me. dammit. |

ok guys, I gotta plan.
Check out "his" reviews and Report every one which is vaguely generic, factually dubious or plain indecipherable. You should be able to knock off a good 40 or 50  |

No worries. But that line was shown in just about every advertisement and trailer I saw. Fortunately, it doesn't say who said it, about whom, or when, or why :) |

I am all for Alan Smithee; it's a funny idea.
Even if I weren't, I'd still support his existence, if only to see Salopian get all riled up. No offense pal, but your taking all this shit so seriously always has me in stitches.

Alan Smithee has made more movies than Steven Spielberg in the real world but I never heard him complain about it - perhaps because Spielber rests largely on quality and box office and who cares about quantity.
I think we should take a queue from him or just write a bunch of p.c. reviews. |
